Artisans and Local Products Fair

On October 30, 2023 at "Abat Doçi" Square, Rrëshen

On the 30th of October, the city of Rrëshen hosted the Artisans and Local Products Fair, attracting not only numerous local participants but also attendees from various cities across Albania. The event featured diverse activities that captivated the interest of artisans, craftsmen, and enthusiasts from near and far.

 

Artisans, craftsmen, cultural and tourism operators from the region, along with industry experts and culture and tradition enthusiasts, came together at this fair to exchange experiences and ideas regarding the rich cultural heritage of Mirdita. The event served as a platform to explore the immense potential for sustainable tourism development in the area.

 

The fair encompassed numerous activities, including the exhibition and marketing of traditional clothes and crafts, aromatic and medicinal plants indigenous to the region, a brief showcase of characteristic Mirdita songs and dances, as well as greetings from local authorities and representatives of the stakeholder institutions in this Project: 

 

  • Ms. Sabine Kania and Mr. Estevan Ikonomi, UNOPS Albania and Kosovo.

  • Mr. Sokol Muça, National Institute of Cultural Heritage Registration.

  • Mr. Albert Melyshi, Mayor of Mirdita.

The Mayor greeted the attendees and expressed gratitude to the host organizations for implementing their projects in Mirdita, thus contributing to the promotion of the region's culture and traditions, as well as the development of touristic offers in Mirdita. He assured that the Municipality of Mirdita will be open to any collaboration aimed at providing assistance to citizens and furthering sustainable socio-economic development in Mirdita.

 

This Fair was organized within the framework of the EU4Culture Albania program, funded by the European Union in Albania and implemented by UNOPS Albania in close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.
